Jill Bonovitz’s work has been widely shown, here and abroad, in solo and group exhibitions. This fall, it is on view through November 28 in the exhibition “Celebrating the 1999 Leeway Award Recipients” at the Philadelphia Art Alliance. Ceramics by Bonovitz are included in several notable permanent collections: the American Craft Museum, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Fabric Workshop and Museum, Montreal Museum of Decorative Arts, Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, among others. The work is delicate, gestural, occasionally antic; no two pieces are exactly alike. Bonovitz draws inspiration from sources as diverse as pre-Columbian pottery, natural forms, and outsider art.
