Andrea Baldeck: The Heart of the Matter, A Retrospective

Andrea Baldeck, a photographer with formal educations in both music and medicine, began capturing images of the various cultures and countries she visited on medical trips as an internist and anesthesiologist. In 1990, Andrea left her medical profession to pursue photography. Traveling to Haiti, Venice, and Southeast Asia, she captured images of the urban landscapes, natural worlds, and local inhabitants. Her photographs compel the viewer to approach each image with a sense of humility and a willingness to reflect upon the complexity of their character.
