Curated by Dianne Perry Vanderlip and representing 15 years of the California-based artist’s creative work. His first one man institutional exhibition on the East Coast, it includes sculpture, constructions and drawings.

Presenting the extensive art record collection of Italian critic Germano Celant, this exhibition includes over 150 records and album covers recorded and frequently designed by such important artists and Filippo Marinetti, Karel Appel, Richard Huelsenbeck, Jime Dine, Yves Klein, Michael Snow, Marcel Duchamp, Andy Warhol, Oyvind Fahlstrom and Robert Whitman. The soundtracks are recorded on cassettes which are played throughout the duration and provide a continual documentation of the art.

The program consisted of sending four prominent contemporary artists to each of four schools during the 1977 – 78 academic school year. The four institutions include California State University at Long Beach, Moore College of Art, University of New Mexico Albequerque and Wright State University in Dayton. Serving as artists-in-residence for one week, they involved students, faculty and other interested persons in an activity of their own design.

A special book was produced in conjunction with the show by Claes Oldenburg called Moore Ray Gun Poems. The exhibition traveled to the University Art Museum, Berkeley, University of California and was on view there from January 16 - February 24, 1974.
