Works by Moore Students
CBS 3, The CW Philly 57 Studios
June 6, 2008 - Ongoing
The work currently featured includes work by eight Moore students from Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey: Timothea Canny, Chelsea Maymon, Nicole Pellino, and Trang Tong. A slideshow featuring the artwork will be posted on the CBS 3 Website. The student work rotates on a six to nine month schedule.
Interior / Exterior includes images selected especially for the inaugural exhibition in the 56th Floor Gallery at Comcast. With the stunning, sky-high location in mind, the selection intermingles views of natural and man-made spaces, inner and outer worlds. Many of the images, like the bird’s eye position at Comcast, invite us to see the world around us differently. Participating artists: Masha Baminter, Gina Giles, Bailey Goldenbaum, Angela Murdoch, Rachael Ocleus, Sarah Quick, Kelly Wood.
After studying the Opera Company of Philadelphia’s production of Madama Butterfly, with costumes and stage set designed by artist Jun Kaneko, students worked for 5 weeks to create their own kimono designs for the lead character, Cio-Cio San. The students created digital textile designs and engineered prints for life-size paper kimonos on view in Moore's two dedicated Galleries at Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. Student participants include: Michelle Clements, Eva Dziczkowska, Victoria Lewis, Allison Montague, Megan Reitz, Michelle Robertson, and Michelle White.
