Gallery Visits

Guided Tours for K–12 students

Visits to The Galleries inspire students to engage with modern and contemporary art and culture and learn visual literacy. Our inquiry based tours, led by students in Moore's Curatorial Studies program, complement Pennsylvania state curricula, promote critical thinking and language arts skills and encourage self-expression in observing and analyzing art.

A minimum of two-weeks notice is required for all group reservations. Group tours are available during The Galleries' public hours, Monday through Saturday 11 am–5 pm. For special circumstances surrounding your tour group or scheduled tour please contact 215.965.4045.

For upcoming programs and events, see the Events Calendar.

Pre- and Post-visit Lesson Plans

The Galleries offers free pre- and post-visit lesson plans for all exhibitions. Pre-visit lesson plans provide visuals and background information to prepare students for their visit to The Galleries. Post-visit lessons help continue conversations and projects in the classroom and offer suggestions for further curricula applications. All lessons and activities are written by Moore's Art Education students with The Galleries' Outreach and Public Programs Coordinator and meet PA state curriculum guidelines.

Lesson plans and activities are available in hardcopy by request; downloadable versions are also available under Resources for Teachers.

Self-Guided Tours

You are invited to bring your students to The Galleries on your own anytime during regular gallery hours. Please notify us two weeks in advance to schedule group tours: 215-965-4045.
