As a forum for exploring contemporary art and design, The Galleries' public programs offer insight and new perspectives into exhibitions on view and current ideas and issues in contemporary art through lectures, panel discussions, film screenings and exhibition tours. All programs are free and open to the public.

In cooperation with The Galleries at Moore and the Fine Art and Art Education Departments at Moore College of Art & Design, the Mural Arts Program ArtWorks! presents a reception and panel discussion about ...Or does it explode? to discuss the roles and responsibilities of public art, site-specificity, and the relationship between art and social justice.

Moderated by Janet Kaplan, Head of BFA Curatorial Studies at Moore, panelists include:  NY-based artist Dread Scott, Mural Arts Program Founder and Executive Director Jane Golden, Philadelphia Family Court Administrative Judge Kevin Dougherty, and Philadelphia-based artist Jennie Shanker.

Senior Art WorkshopsSenior Art Workshops

On select Saturdays, The Galleries offer free, hands-on art classes for adults 65+. Courses offer on-site instruction in The Galleries where participants can learn to create their own works through discussion and interpretation of exhibitions on view. Courses are taught by students in Moore's Art Education Department. For more information on future classes please contact the Outreach and Public Programs Coordinator at 215.965.4045.

Guided and Self-Guided ToursGuided and Self-Guided Tours

We encourage individuals and small groups to tour the galleries on their own, or with the assistance of gallery staff during regular gallery hours.

All guided tours must be scheduled in advance. Also, please notify us ahead of time if you are planning a self-guided tour in the event of any scheduling conflicts. Please contact The Galleries' Outreach and Public Programs Coordinator at 215-965-4045 to notify us of your visit.
